The hotel Lesdiguieres, real institution, passed through the twentieth century and became a historic monument which nowadays belongs to the heritage of the city of Grenoble.

Entirely refurbished the hotel Lesdiguieres works in pairs with the students of the catering industry school. At that time, there were only four establishments in France which were managed by students and teachers. It is a good way for students to have a professional experience and to improve their skills by practicing as in the real catering work world.

The history of the hotel Lesdiguieres begins in 1896 when Mr. Alfred Viallet became the owner of a charming 40 room hotel surrounded by a huge park and a lake. This place was very appreciated by the fishermen.

In 1917, thanks to the decision taken by the Minister of trade and industry, the hotel became one of the first “hotel-school”. It used to work in association with the department, the city of Grenoble and the state.

In 1932, (fifteen years later), the city of Grenoble acquired the public park of the hotel and enlarged it. In 1963 it became officially the biggest Catering and Hospitality French School of the Alps.
